From Soldier to Sergeant Suds

At 20 years old, I made a life-changing decision to enlist in the U.S. Army — and celebrated my 21st birthday in boot camp! Not long after, I met my husband, and we welcomed our first son into the world together. With my growing family, I chose to take an honorable discharge and transition from active duty soldier to dedicated military spouse.

For the next 30 years, my boys and I proudly supported my husband as he continued his military service. Living on a modest soldier’s income taught me the importance of resourcefulness, sacrifice, and gratitude — lessons that have guided every chapter of my life.

Throughout those years, I found purpose in giving back — volunteering at homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food banks, hospitals, and blood drives. Each experience deepened my compassion and reinforced my desire to help others, especially those who have served our country.

So, at 60 years old, it felt perfectly natural to begin a new mission — one centered around helping Veterans while protecting families from harsh chemicals. That mission became Sergeant Suds Laundry Powder, an all-natural, five-ingredient detergent that’s gentle on skin, tough on dirt, and kind to our environment.
